- Description/Excerpt: After 15 years of tax cuts, including drops in property and income tax rates, Michigan families have seen their state tax bills decrease by as much as a fourth, according to an Associated Press computer analysis.
Families making $75,000 are paying about $1,330 less a year in taxes than in 1991, an annual savings of more than 16 percent.
Families making $50,000 have seen their taxes drop by the same percentage, while those making $100,000 and more have seen an even larger decrease - nearly 24 percent, saving them several thousand dollars a year.
